Ireland's holiest mountain rises 764 metres above the village of Murrisk, just 9 km from Westport town. St. Patrick is said to have climbed here in the 5th century to fast and pray for 40 days, driving the snakes and demons out of Ireland from its rocky summit. The climb is challenging but the views from the top — across Clew Bay and its hundreds of islands — are unforgettable.

Known as "Ireland's Most Beautiful Home," Built by the Browne family in the 18th century, the estate's history connects directly to Grace O'Malley — the legendary 16th-century Pirate Queen of Connacht — whose descendants the Brownes were.
