Adare Manor
A neo-Gothic estate dating from 1831, set on 840 acres of parkland along the River Maigue. Restored as a five-star resort in 2017, it hosts the 2027 Ryder Cup and houses The Carriage House — the first Michelin-starred restaurant in County Limerick.
Desmond Castle
A 13th-century Norman fortress on the north bank of the River Maigue. Built by the de Marisco family and later held by the Earls of Desmond, the complex includes a square keep, two great halls, a kitchen, bakery, and stables. Guided tours available seasonally.
Thatched Cottages on Main Street
The most photographed sight in Adare, these cottages were built in the 1830s by Caroline, Countess of Dunraven, to house estate workers. Today they are home to craft shops, tearooms, and restaurants — including 1826 Adare, named after the year its cottage was built.
Holy Trinity Abbey (Trinitarian Abbey)
Founded around 1230 by Geoffrey de Marisco, this is the only Trinitarian monastery ever established in Ireland. Suppressed in 1535 and restored in 1811 by the first Earl of Dunraven, it remains an active Catholic parish church. Church are open to visitors.
